This will prompt them to stop and read what you’ve posted, increasing your post’s views.
And with the great content you have, you won’t have to worry about the lack of comments.
The more likes, comments, and shares it earns, the more it’ll pop-up in their notifications.
The result? Your post will gain traction on LinkedIn!
I understand that you might feel weird doing it at first. (In fact, most LinkedIn users refrain from doing it.)
But I assure you that this practice is a powerful tactic in increasing your overall engagement.
Think of it this way.
People find it easier to do something if they see others have done it first.
TLDR; It’s all about psychology. A “follow the leader” mentality.
TIP #2: ENGAGE WITH OTHER PEOPLE’S POSTS
Aside from your posts, you need to engage with other people as well.
Doing so creates visibility opportunities for you, widening your audience reach more.
As the social selling expert, Koka Sexton often said,
Visibility leads to opportunities.
The best way you can do this is by leaving a series of comments on their posts.
But don’t leave just any generic comments like “This is great!” or “Thanks for the tip!”
Write valuable insights and information showing that you understand their content.
They’ll appreciate it more and have a favorable impression of you.
Meaning, they’ll remember you and will want to connect with you.
In fact, I found that the more you engage with other people’s content, the more engagement you’ll receive in return.
So the next time you post content, they’ll pay attention to what you’ve written, comment, and share it with their respective networks.
TIP #3: POST CONTENT MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY
This is the most simple LinkedIn tactic you’ll ever do.
And the biggest (open) secret every LinkedIn user knows.
Posting multiple times a day.
LinkedIn doesn’t limit how many times you post, so you can go wild with this one.
The sky’s the limit here.
And the biggest benefit of this LinkedIn tactic?
Your connections and followers who have just logged in won’t miss out on your content!
Just be sure to schedule your posts to the hours they’re online.
For instance, I post content in the morning between 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and another in the afternoon between 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
I choose these hours because that’s the optimal time when my connections are active on LinkedIn (and it’s just outside of the normal business hours).
But what if you want to post five times a day and you only have 2 to 3 pieces of content on hand?

TIP #4: DO REPOSTINGS
You can do this in 2 ways.
- Repost the same content but with a different copy on the same day
- Repost the same content with the same copy every few days
I’m telling you.
Reposting will be your new best friend.
And you don’t have to worry about spamming your audience with the same content like on Facebook and Twitter.
Because LinkedIn allows this kind of tactic for it helps users reach a potential market on the platform.
TIP #5: CREATE ENGAGEMENT GROUPS
Simply relying on LinkedIn Analytics (and the whole algorithm) won’t get you anywhere.
I think it puts limits on the users’ content engagement to the LinkedIn feed and notifications.
That’s why I suggest that you start creating your own engagement group (multiples of them, if you can).
Like I did.
In my groups, I invited my closest connections in the industry only. And there, I share the links to my new posts on LinkedIn.
(But don’t ever require your group members to engage in all your posts!)
This move guarantees that they will:
- View my valuable content
- Like, comment, and share it
I found that the first hour that the post goes live is the most critical.
If it gets higher engagement activity during the hour, then it gains more visibility throughout the day.
The LinkedIn algorithm will then pick up on it, making the post viral across the platform.
Note that you don’t have to limit your groups to LinkedIn.
You can also create them on other social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and WeChat.
HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR POST’S ENGAGEMENT
Social media has changed the game of sales and marketing for all of us.
If you don’t have social proof, your target prospects will most likely hesitate to buy from you.
Thankfully, we have LinkedIn.
And it’s not just a platform for job seekers and job recruiters.
It’s now also for content creators who want to promote their brands and attract prospects.

That’s why you need to take advantage of this benefit and maintain your strong online presence through engagements.

Know their likes and dislikes, their pain points. And understand why they’re experiencing it so you can create content that solves their needs.
Otherwise, it’ll be hard for you to get them engaged since you don’t know who you’re talking to.
So set a tone and language that they can resonate with, so you can determine:

- The type of content you’ll share

Keeping up with the current trends is one way to attract attention and get engagement.
So always be on the lookout for what current events and industry news your target audience is following.
Then, find ways to relate it to your brand, creating an opportunity for you to have content that they can instantly connect with.
5. Be authentic online
One mistake that most people make in creating content is setting its tone to business formal.
And this turns the readers off.
If you want to get them engaged and read your post until the end, then you should show your true self to them.
Make your content reflect your personality.
Make your readers feel that there’s a real person on the other side that cares for them.
And this tempts them to engage more with you.
In short, GET PERSONAL.
You can do this by:
- Showing photos or videos of the people behind your brand
- Calling them by their first name
- Answering their questions promptly
- Responding to them playfully
